Hi all,

I have downloaded the DNN 4.0.2 starter kit. I can successfully make a new VS 2005 web site. I've changed the web.config to use an SQL Server 2005 database.

Now, this all runs fine when I leave things as forms authentication. When I modify the web.config to use Windows authentication, and to access SQL Server persisting security info and using the user's identity it no longer works. Actually, my attempts to make the app use the user's login for SQL Server access is clearly failing because it complains the user "machine\ASPNET" doesn't have database access.

Any hints or help?

Thanks!!

I've granted "machine\ASPNET" dbo rights to the database (although I'd prefer database access to work under the user's credentials so I can use triggers for auditing) and now it looks like the windows authentication is working because if I visit the web page I have "logout" showing in the top right.

However, how can I get rid of the 'logout' so it doesn't show at all, and how can I add myself to the administrators role?

I am having a similer problem.  I have changed the sql server to 2000, and the dnn runs on forum authentication.  But when I try to load the web page, all I get is:
An error has occurred.
An error has occurred.

I am not sure were to begin to trouble shoot this.  I would love to get it to work and not have to program my intranet site from scratch.  Did you ever get yours to work?
