Hiya,

I'm very new to DNN. I just recently became an Admin at the Qloader forum I've noticed a couple of issues. I had read the FAQ but can't quite see or understand the answers.

1. When clicking the reply button on posts the background of the design screen is black and the text is black. The background is set to white and text to black, btw.

2. Every time I go to the forum I have to log in. Even when checking the "remember me" box. Is there a "cookie" setting somewhere?

3. I've noticed that html coding is used on this type of forum. I tried designing an article in Front Page and then paste and copy it. It almost worked buy I was getting lots of extra spaces and the text was not the full length of the reply box and my table went haywire.

Thx for the help.

First of all, which version of DNN and the forum are you using?

In regards to number 1, which internet browser are you using?  Can you recreate it on all browsers?

In regards to number 2, ensure that you are allowing cookies on your machine.  I have heard of some specific issues on 4.4.1, but I can't find the information at this time...

In regards to number 3, there could be a number of items causing this, try putting the code in while in HTML view but DO NOT switch to design view, the textbox will sometimes reformat html when switching from HTML to design view.

Hope that helps..

1. make sure, that the background of the skin, you applied to the site, is not set to black. If necessary, use an additional 100 % table with black background color instead.

2. the duration of the "remember me" cookie is set in web.config,  check out the

    <authentication mode="Forms">
      <forms name=".DOTNETNUKE" protection="All" timeout="60" cookieless="UseCookies"/>
timeout="60" meens 60 minutes.

3. you can create content externally and add it to the html editor in source code version. Notice however, that the look can be modified by css style sheets applied to the site.

Thx for all the help. Another has taken care of the black background issue. For the cookies, does and Admin have access to check the web.config? I don't understand about the "source code version". Is that possible to do in MS Frontpage?
