just droping the exception quickly before moving on to testing:

if not exists (select * from dbo.sysobjects where id = object_id(N'IX_DNN_SearchWord'))
ALTER TABLE dbo.DNN_SearchWord ADD CONSTRAINT
IX_DNN_SearchWord UNIQUE NONCLUSTERED (Word) ON [PRIMARY]

seems there were duplicate search words for some reason, so a small update to the upgrade scripts to trim the table may prevent the failure.

That is a good thing to know, it appears that you ran into the issue due to the addition of indexes for performance on 4.4.1.

Does anyone know if this is fixed in 4.5's upgrade scripts?

clean your search tables following these instructions and rerun the sql statement

if not exists (select * from dbo.sysobjects where id = object_id(N'IX_DNN_SearchWord'))
ALTER TABLE dbo.DNN_SearchWord ADD CONSTRAINT
IX_DNN_SearchWord UNIQUE NONCLUSTERED (Word) ON [PRIMARY]

as a script from inside the textbox in Host :: SQL menu item

Thanks Leupold for the fix, yet I didn't post to seek for a solution (the error was quite straight forward), but rather to suggest that the cleaning could be done in the upgrade script creating the index.

Cheers
