Hi. My background is healthcare but it sparked interest on me to learn more about creating a website using asp.net. I've seen community server and i just manage to find yours. Whats the god and bad things between the two of them apart from CS not being an open source.

CS comes by default with a number of outstanding functions - Forum, Blog, Gallery as well as some additional commercial and free modules. According to its name, it is designed for creating online communities

DotNetNuke is a web application framework, which is very flexible and there are thousands of free and commercial (low-price) modules available. It is designed for internet, intranet and extranet usage and - due to being open source - can be adopted for nearly any situation. abesides it has a very powerful community.

I will also add that  in my opinion in working with DNN that it is much easier to make the little tweaks needed to customize to your installation.  This is as least based on my experiences trying CS about 9Months ago..
