Hi All,

I am developing a site here in DNN 4.4.1 : http://www.circadianinternet/cfctest.

I have two solpartmenu's. The top one is set to display root only.

The side menu is set as Level=Child, meaning that it shows only the Children of the current page.

This is fine until we are at a certain level in the heirarchy, at which point i wish to show siblings as well.

For example, clicking on Foster Carers gives the following: About Us, Why Foster, Who fosters, How to become a foster carer.

When one of these is clicked, the side navigation has no links, because these pages have no children.

Basically, i'd like the side bar navigation to show all children from the top level, but siblings AND children for non -root level options.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Richard

You could use different skins for the different pages. One where the menu has level="child" and one where it hasn't. Apply as needed.

Hi Velox,

Yeah, that is one option, but it seems a bit overkill to duplicate all of my skin with only one attribute different between them.

Still, it is a solution!

You would need to duplicate only one file, the HTML or ASCX file (whichever you're using). The skin is defined by its filename, so you don't have to change any of the identifiers (like class names) inside the file. The rest of the files, like the CSS file, can be left untouched.

I don't see any other solution for making different pages behave differently, other than patching the code for the SolPartMenu component. (Unless I'm overlooking some setting.)
