When I start the install wizard....if I select "Auto" I get the following error...

Error Installing DotNetNuke

Current Assembly Version: 04.05.00

ERROR: Could not connect to database specified in connectionString for SqlDataProvider

If I select typical or custom I get all the way to the "Configure Database Connection" I check the connection info and click "Test Connect" I get the following error...

Connection Error(s):
Index #: 0
Source: .Net SqlClient Data Provider
Class: 14
Number: 18456
Message: Login failed for user 'dotnetnuke'.

Windows 2000 Server, .NET 2.0, SQL Server 2000 running locally. I followed the instructions in the "Detailed Install Guide". PDF downloaded from this site. I'm an advanced admin so I've workedwith SQL Server 2000 alot.

Started from scratch 3 times and got this same exact issue every time.

Please help me.

I had this happen to me as well. I found I had forgotten to give my DB login account the 'Owner' role.

The connection string test passed but the login account did not have permission to do anything.
