I'm embarassed to ask this question but here goes.

I ported an old module to 4.4 under VS Express a few months ago. I built it, loaded it up into a .dnn file and uploaded it to my hosting provider. It is working fine. I now want to make some changes and upload a new version. I just wanted to take a short cut and FTP my modified .ascx files and the "thing" that contains the compiled code rather than update the .dnn file and "reinstall the module". But now I'm confused. What contains the compiled code-behind code that I have to upload. After making the .ascx changes, I compiled the web site in VS but I don't see any .dlls that have changed in my bin directory. I thought I remembered uploading a new DotNetNuke.dll on the initial upload but now I'm not sure. I'm sure this is simple, but I've got a poor memory and I'm stumped.

Thanks for any help,

Tom

When you deployed the module before did you deploy your code files as well (.vb or .cs files)?

If you did there would not be any needed DLL files!

Thanks very much. I think maybe I was stuck in the old way of doing things. I did deploy my .vb files the first time and I guess I just didn't pay attention that I didn't also include a .dll.

I tell ya, I only dabble in module development and I've gotten so confused around the different deployment methods - WAP, WSP, whatever. If I go away from it for awhile, I forget how I've done things and it makes it hard...

Thanks again for the help,

Tom
