Is it version 4.5 or 4.05? What happened? Why do we seem to be back tracking with the versioning?

Since the previous release was 4.4.1 and the latest one is 4.5.0 I don't think it is called backtracking ...

Even in dutch counting 4.5 is bigger than 4.4

Technically it is  04.05.00  - major.minor.build

Often it will be shortened to just 4.5 or 4.5.0

The only time this should be confusing is if it goes above xx.09.09, but that has only happened once in the history of DNN at version 1.10

Since the leading zero is rarely used, I don't expect that they will ever have more than 9 minor versions in any major version, or it will get confusing.

By the way.  This is also inline with the how the people in charge of the DotNetNuke project do not subscribe to the "Release Early, Release Often" principle that most other Open Source applications seem to follow.

just my opinion, but this practice is also one of the reasons why you never see a hotfix for a security issue.
