Greetings,

Yes, I've used the same solution as you; we set up up a second instance of SQL Server with case in-sensitive server collation. Not a very nice solution though... I hope this issue will be solved in the next release of DNN.

I am getting the same error trying to do a clean install of 4.5.1 on GoDaddy... I have verified that the collation is ...SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS... for the database and the server (which is case in-sensitive. I have looked for the log file referenced in the error message but it is not there. Does anybody have any other possible solutions for this problem?

Ray

I can confirm that this is due to the collation not being set to SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS at the SERVER level.

Here is a link if you're curious on how to make the change. (Have your install CD handy, you'll need it)

On the bright side I learned how to change my server's collation.

--Cheers

P.S. ALL of your user DB's will need to be removed prior to the change (User DB's are all DB's which are not system DB's)
