I am attempting to upgrade on test server from 3.3.4 to 4.5 - upgrade seemed to go without hitch except for error on upgrade screen which told me to look in sqldataprovider log 4.4.0 (all that said was Error: HelpURL)

I am using in a windows environment with automatic authentication (active directory) - which is working fine the problem is now I cannot login to host account or general admin account or any other accounts that I have created - i.e. ones that are not created by authentication.  This message is displayed.

Login Failed, remember that Passwords are case sensitive

and if I logout after being authenticated and try to login using DOMAIN\username and password I get the following error.

A critical error has occurred.
Bad Data.

This all worked in 3.x  Can anyone tell me how I can get host account to start working again and forms access for other users.

Regards

Peter M.

I had this happen to me too. I was able to register a new user. Then I went into the database and changed the setting in the user table "Is Super User" to True. Then I had a host account. With that account I was able to change the passwords.

It isn't pretty and it only worked for me because I only had a few users but that is how i did it.

Good Luck

Ensure that you copied over your machineKey values from your 3.x installation!
