If I set up a parent portal, and then have many child portals. Is there a way they can all share the same users?  In other words no matter what child protal the user logs into, they can go to anyother child portal or the parnet portal and not have to log in again. I have been told this is possible, but when I setup test sites, it dosent seem to work.  Though I have noticed that if I try to create a user with the same name on a child portal where the name already exists on the parnet portal , DNN wont allow this, which is an indicator that there could be a way to do this.

Thank you

You can check out a posting I replied to about this subject a while back.  It covers the basic idea of how you can do this.  Mostly what you do is add a line to UserPortals table with the PortalId and the UserId (if I remember correctly its been a while).  Once the line is added you are set.  We wrote a custom module to handle this but it can be done just as easily at the database level.

night I am  a very basic users, I read the posts, but honestly I still dont have a clue how to do it.  If you have a module, that is well documented that would accomplish this I would be interested in purchaseing it.

Thank you

If you don't mind waiting about a couple of days or so, I will package it up and send it to you free of charge.  I never expected to distribute it so I don't have any written documentation, I will put it togeter and create an install package for you.  You can reach me at nightsoul94@gmail.com and if you don't mind sending an email I will send you the files when I have them put together.
