DNN Version 3.3.7
Forums Module Version 3.20.08

I have a site with two Forum modules installed on two different pages and I wanted to have one user be a moderator in both forums. I setup the first module and assigned the user to moderate a specific forum.  Then I installed the second module and created my forums with no problems. However when I went to Manage Forum Users and tried to edit the users settings I recieved this error:

Error: User Settings is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Modules.Forum.UserSettings.SelectMultiTreeItems(DnnTree objTree, Int32 ForumID) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Forum.UserSettings.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I went back to the first module and removed the moderators settings for that user. Then went to the second module and tried to edit the user settings again and did not recieve the error.

Can a single DNN user moderate multiple forums? If so any idea why I would be getting this error?

Thanks

That version of the module was not properly developed to be used multiple times on the same portal, or multiple times across several portals without bugs. The 4.4.0 version of the module handles all of this very well.

Found that the hard way with a customer install

Is the 4.4.0 version out yet? The latest version I see on the project downloads page is 3.20.09.

According to THIS thread, the latest version is still a few weeks out.

As I understand things, the new version of the forum will require a minimum version of DNN 4.4.0.
You might want to go ahead and start the upgrade process now...
