This is a very IMPORTANT addition to this module. Being able to use it to podcast would be HUGE!

Would love to see it!

The RSS feed is generated by the core Syndicate function. The Repository module itself does not generate an RSS feed. The core Syndication functions use the builtin Search interface for each module to retrieve the data and generate the feed.

At a quick glance, it appears that in order to modify the RSS generated, the change would have to be in the core function, or I would have to build a custom RSS feed generator for the Repository.

I'll bring this up at the next core team chat and see if there are any other options, as I am not all that familar with the Syndication code.

Thanks for checking into it...  I was looking at the module source last night, and was suspecting it was done at the core level when I found the settings in the core area of the module properties instead of the module area.   I think it probably wouldn't be a big change, but it sure would have a huge impact!

If that option is added, they'd probably also want to make the configuration a bit more detailed.  Right now the only option is to enable or disable syndication, but they'd probably want to provide an option to enable/disable the enclosure item also.

From a user's perspective, the Announcements module does RSS quite well - you can also adjust the length of text that goes out with the message, which is quite helpful - might be worth looking at how it does RSS.

It's been several months now, are there any new updates on the PodCasting aspect of the repository module? I have them using the NiftyVideo template right now, but it doesn't do exactly what they want.
