I will install DNN on my local server at home first to test, then when I finished test runs, I will try to deploy to a public server and run a large site, and a couple of smaller sites.

Which version of DNN should I install on my local server, if I later would like to pack and deploy to the remote public server? Both the local, and remote public severs use SQL Server 2005, not the Express versions of SQL, and IIS7.

Thanks!

Tomas

I would use the most current version 4.5.1.  To do this you will need to push the full databae out to the production environment, as well as all code files.  Then you will need to update the connection strings, then update the portal alias records to point to the domain.

I am personally using 4.5.1 install as I am not modifying any of the core modules.

I see, then I presume I should use the install versions of any module besides of core modules I need for my site.

Thanks
