I think I have screwed up my installation by trying to install 4.5.1 over the top 4.4.X. The install actually failed on one element but I'm not sure what effect this will have.  It still runs okay through Visual Web Developer Express but I can no longer create a new site through the DotNetNuke Web Framework template as it says DotNetNuke.webproj cannot be found.

Ideally I would like to uninstall it and do a fresh install just to be safe but can't work out how to do this either.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks in advance.

Mandy

Uninstalling DNN is as easy as deleting the database and deleting all the files in your DNN installation folder.  I usually save and rename web.config so I can just copy the same connection strings over to the new one.  The connection strings and permissions should stay, and when you create the new database the user should still be available, depending on database version.

Jeff,

I am having the same problem as Mandy.  How do I delete the database?  And where is the DNN installation folder.  Since I haven't really done anything with a website worth saving as yet, I am not worried about the web.config file.  Sorry for what are such elementary questions, but any help would be appreciated.

Also, when I run the program using the file system web server, all is well, but when I run the program under IIS (using debug), I get this error stating that my web server is not configured properly.  When I run the program using debug off, I get a HTTP 403 error.  Just wondering what I might be doing wrong.  By the way, this web server error comes up any time that I am running the VWD Express Edition with any website on IIS, not just DNN.  The web server that comes with VWD works fine, but I really wanted to use IIS.

Thanks, Steve
