I've been using DNN for about 4 years, but still consider myself a beginner, so I need some basics info, so please, if you respond, thanks very much in advance and I need your response in beginner's terms, please.

Where are the stylesheets for DNN? And more importantly, what are the steps to get to them?
Which ones are used for what?

Specifically, I am trying to customize the look of the WW store module. Emerald Solutions has a copy of the stylesheet specs they used in their demo (which looks really nice), but I have NO idea where to put anything.

Thank you soo much. I hope someone will take time to respond. Joanie

The CSS are:

Some modules have their own module.css file that gets loaded before default.css...
Portals/_default/default.css = the default CSS styles for DNN
Portals/_default/Skins/"SkinPackName"/skin.css = the skinpack's CSS file, this get's loaded for evey skin in the skinpack.

Portals/_default/Skins/"SkinPackName"/"skinname".css =  the specific CSS file for a skin
Portals/"portalnumber"/portal.css = The file you edit with the sites CSS editor, here you can overrule skin, and default CSS

You can download them (FTP) edit them and then upload again.

I guess you should put the CSS you want to add in either skin.css or the skin's css file ("skinname".css)

Hope this helps

There are several css files that get loaded in a specific order ( Module > Host Default > Skin > Container > Portal ).  Although it is extremely useful information, I'm not sure it is all that important to know where each of these come from or their exact order because, in DNN, the portal.css always loads last giving it the highest precedence.

Basically, if you copy and paste the stylesheet specs they gave you for their demo into your portal.css ( Admin | Site Settings | Style Sheet Editor ) without changing the tag names, you can make whatever changes you need and that will effectively overwrite the tag definitions coming from the module.css.

This was the way the DNN CSS structure was designed and works very well.

That is where I put their specs in first, but it didnt change the look of my module. Basically, what I did was copy the parts I thought I wanted to see changed and pasted it all into the portal.css. I didnt overwrite anything that was there before. Should I have overwritten parts of the original css?
