If you would look at the sample I have stated you would see that it is possible to accomplish this.  The id of the control triggering the event is made up of the Repeater's id + row's id + labeledit's id.  If you assign an id to the row you will be able to parse it out via the ClientID, just like in the sample

 Private Sub MyDNNLabelEdit_UpdateLabel(ByVal source As Object, ByVal e As UI.WebControls.DNNLabelEditEventArgs)
  'update database here
  Dim o As DotNetNuke.UI.WebControls.DNNLabelEdit = CType(source, DotNetNuke.UI.WebControls.DNNLabelEdit)
  Dim sId As String = o.ClientID    '
 End Sub

I admit it is a little bit of a hack to do the parsing, but should work with no problem.

By the way you can assign the row id on the ItemCreated event

    Private Sub Repeater1_ItemCreated(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.RepeaterItemEventArgs) Handles Repeater1.ItemCreated
 e.Item.Id = YourRowId
