 I am having problems adding a signin control to my template.  I get an error saying the it is an unknown server tag.

<dnn:Signin runat="server" id="dnnSignin" />

That's what I am using to try to get the username and pw boxes to show up but I get an error that says:

Error Creating Control - dnnSignin
Unknown server tag 'dnn:Signin'

Any help would be much appreciated.

The existing control is dnnLogin ( <dnn:LOGIN runat="server" id="dnnLOGIN" /> ).

If you have created a new control... it must be registered like the other controls in the ModuleControls table ( short answer *grin* ).

I thought in the docs it said login was for the login link and signin was for the actual username and password boxes.  I am out of town at the moment but I will give it a shot tomorrow when I get home.

I may be understanding your question better now.  If you are trying to create a custom login page... that can be done simply by adding a login module to the page and then specifying that page as the login page in the Site Options.

I was actually trying to add the signin control (username and password input boxes) to the template so that they would appear on every page if the user were not logged in already. Is it possible to change the dnnLogin control so that instead of showing "Login" with a link it would just show the two input boxes if the user were not logged in? Thanks for the help =D
