Hello,

i am still a beginner in module development. Normal modules (.ascx files with the codebehind in normal .vb files) are not longer a problem and they run fine.

But: What do i have to configure to put all code inside a DLL?

I have tried to create a class library and add the .ascx to that lib. After that i still need the .vb files to be present in the modules directory otherwise there is a load error for the module (exception tells me that the .vb files are missing)

Can anyone giv me a short hint how to configure my project so that the code inside the DLL is used and not from the .vb files?

Thanks in advance,

Ralf

Thanks for the hint. I have tried it and it works good.

And i found out more:

You even do not create the module as part of the main DNN installation: Create a separate project, compile it, install it in DNN. Then, to acticate debugging, create (after-)build events that copy all files to the correct position in DeskTopModules and in <DNN>\bin.

So you can work i a separate directory but debugging still works!

Ciao,

Ralf
