I have searched the forums for this problem but couldn't locate any solution.

I'm having trouble getting my DNN website to respond to requests to certain URL's, maybe an example will help explain

  • If I enter the url www.myDnnSampleSite.com I get the website
  • but if i use the url http://myDnnSampleSite.com or the IP Address of the machine I get the error "Directory listing denied"

I have checked with the DNS admins and they say myDnnSampleSite.com resolves to the IP address and the www.myDnnSampleSite.com is an alias to myDnnSampleSite.com. I bow to their superior knowledge and assume the DNS entries are not the problem

I have http://myDnnSampleSite.com as a host header name in IIS and I also have it and the IP address as portal aliases in DNN and have restarted the DNN application and IIS but still can't fix it.

Anyone having similar trouble or maybe in a position to point me in the direction of how to solve it?
