I have changed this parameter in web.config to try to allow large (225mb) downloads to complete;

<httpRuntime useFullyQualifiedRedirectUrl="true" maxRequestLength="2097151" executionTimeout="3600" />

(when I tried to make this number higher I got a message that 2097151 is the maximum) however, I still cannot download my 225mb file. Maybe this is not the right place to set this? I cannot believe that asp cannot accomodate downloads over 255mb. I need to allow at least 300mb downloads.

The maxRequestLength setting is used to control request size (i.e. "Uploads").  It won't have an effect on downloads.

Anthony, thanks, I had wondered about that too. But I saw another post that seemed to indicate this was also affecting downloads. I'll try to find that to refer to...

I'm stumped here I've been googling all day and no joy.

What version of DNN are you using?

DNN 4.4.1 and IIS 6 on Windows 2003.

I saw a note about CGI timeout in IIS but it didn't help the problem. I can download up to about 35-40mb before I get a message that the server has reset the connection. This makes me suspect its a webserver/asp issue but I don't seem to find anyone else who has this problem.
