We installed DNN 4.5.01 on Friday

I have "admin priviledges" and can add a links module to my page. What I can't do is figure out how to manually add links to the module content.

All the documentation that I've found shows that there should be an "add link" hyperlink or a menu choice to add links (like edit or add a link) being displayed when in edit mode. I see neither. I did find the links table and manually added data into the Links table but I doubt that this is the proper way to add links.

Does anyone have a clue as to what might be going on?

Sebastian:

Thanks for your response, but the whole point was I am in edit mode,

i.e Don't see "add link" or menu choice while in edit mode.

That is, I have already clicked on that radio button choice in the upper left and am "sitting" in edit mode and the afforementioned is happeniing, that is why I am perplexed.

I have to admit that I am a rookie at this so I apologize very profusely if I haven't correctly understood your reply. Thanks again for taking your time to respond.

If you are not seeing the add link  menu item or the link, then I would try checking the permissions for the module. Do you see an "arrow" on the top left (action menu) that allows you to change the module settings, permissions, etc?

Alec:

Thank you for your response. I can only surmise what I think happened.

I wrote 2 custom modules. On one of the modules I implemented the IActionable interface. This appears to have globally messed up my menus for all modules. This is only a wild guess. We deleted my superuser account and then recreated it. Now the "add link" menu choice is available.

Bottom line (I think) don't mess with the IActionable interface unless one knows what they are doing...
