I've gleaned from various posts around the place that one can enable some ajaxy bits for some some modules by ticking the "Supports Partial Rendering" box in certain controls.

Is this pre-enabled for all module controls that support it... or if not, how do we find out which ones will work with it?

Regards
Rob

Well, first of all, this is not automatically enabled for any core modules, or actually any other modules for that manner.

I have been going through the core modules testing to see which modules can support AJAX via the "Supports Partial Rendering" option from within the module definitions page.  ON my blog site http://www.mitchelsellers.com I have explained how to enable partial rendering for the Repository module, which thus far is one of only two core modules that I have found that support partial rendering.

I have found that the most recent version of the FAQ module provides an "Enable AJAX" menu option within the settings page which is VERY nice for this module.

I also know that my Guestbook module supports the use of the "Supports Partial Rendering" option as well.

Lastly, there is a known issue where module developers are setting the <supportspartialrendering> element in their .dnn files but the modules are not being configured so users must manually enable the settings.

Keep an eye on my blog over the next few days as I will be testing and reporting on other DNN modules and AJAX support as the week progresses.

Hi Mitchel, thanks for the reply.

Funnily enough, I was in fact reading your site and checking out your guestbook when I decided to come in here and make the post.

The core FAQ is definitely nice now with Ajax.. I've since dumped the dubious module I bought off Snowcovered a year ago and have reverted to the core item.

I'm just attempting to subscribe to your blog but the feed is empty. Have you upgraded to the latest Ventrian News Articles module yet? It fixes a problem with empty RSS feeds in DNN 4.50

I'll keep an eye on the site anyhow and see how you get on with the ajax, thanks heaps

Rob

Rob,

I just posted a new blog this morning with more reviews on modules.

I also upgraded the News Articles module to fix the RSS feeds I was unaware of that issue.

Cool! I've gone and added the one for the Links module already... quite handy.
