Hi All,

Got a bit of a weird one and not really sure what to do.

Problem is this. I have copied a DNN 4.3 system on to my live web space and everything has been working perfectly for 4 days.

My client was well happy and this morning the stats were excellent.

Then this afternoon I could not access the site at all. Then it came back - and now again nothing.

When I try and access the URL it just waits, and waits...... nothing.

I know this isnt really an install issue, but I just wondered if anyone has ever encountered a similar problem.

I reckon its ISP related but they, so far, have only said everything appears to be working (?).

Any help or pointers greatly appreciated..

Thanks in advance

Geoff

There are a few things it could be.

1.  If the application is not heavlily used the first requests could take some time as the ASP.NET process restarts, this typically only adds about 5-7 seconds to a request, however, I have noticed up to a 50 second delay with my web host.  You can combat this issue by using a service such as the ones provided by http://www.host-tracker.com to monitor your website and keep it active.

2.  It could also be due to the server resouces available from your hosting provider, if you can get the site up but still notice slow performance then you might want to contact them to see if you can be moved to a less heavily used application pool.

Thanks for the response.

I am thinking the same thing. I believe its an ISP resource issue.

The site has been working really well but then this. Havent changed a thing.

I am currently moving the installation to another server to try that out.

Thanks again
