I found that if a module has edit permission for registered users than users can see Mode: in the top of the page. How can I hide it for general users? All registerd users can see this block in my forum page. But I can't see it here. Doesn't anybody know how to hide it?

The above referenced text shows how to hide it via changing the CSS of the skin. The rest of the text is only suitable for programmers. There is already a discussion ongoing here

The main question is:
- if the user does not have edit/change rights on the whole TAB but on one particular module (e.g. Events) this panel appears
- when hiding the panel with the hint mentioned above the user won't have the "add event" right in the future. OK, to be more precise: he has the right, but the clickable link "ADD EVENT" will be gone. So, the right is useless.
Now: how to give him the ADD/EDIT/CHANGE (whatever, depending on the module) right without giving him edit-rights on the whole tab AND with hiding the panel?

The tip in the post above hides the menu programatically with three lines of code if the user does not have edit rights to the whole tab.  It does not use CSS.

I don't know why it would remove any link for adding an Event.  It only hides the Mode bar at the top.

In the tip above are two things:

1) how to hide the pane at all via the CSS from the used skin

2) how to hide it vie coding

I ment the first thing, which is working.
I don't know how and / or why the ADD EVENT Link in the Event-Module is disappearing when i hide the Pane over the first idea, but it is so. Even when the user has the appropriate right on the module.
When i take out the line from the CSS, then the Pane appears when there is one (or more) modules on the tab where the logged in user has Edit-Rights (like Add-Event) and of course the user can add events.

And the panel disappears when there are no such modules on the tab.
Strange, but true.
