Hi,

I'm including a couple of control extenders from the Ajax Control Toolkit in my custom module - the CollapsiblePanelExtender and RoundedCornersExtender. What do I need to add to the module installer to make sure my module runs on any DNN 4.5.x?

Do I need to include the AjaxControlToolkit.dll with my assembly?
Is it enough to add dependencies to the controls I'm using in the dnn file?

Thanks,
Uri

The tutorial is great! But it doesn't really address my first concern: does the AjaxControlTolkit.dll need to be included with the assembly? How can I be sure that the DNN installation had the DLL in the bin folder?

I understand that adding the dependencies to the dnn file will prevent the module form installing if ajax is not supported. But how do I install the ajax toolkit with my module in case it's not already there?

Thanks,
Uri

Thanks. You have to include the AJAX Control Toolkit in your module package. However as they release new versions of it you would not want to overwrite a newer version of the AJAX Control Toolkit that they may already have in the DotNetNuke site with an older version in your module package.

My advise would be to use the source files from the AJAX Control Toolkit for the AJAX Control Toolkit controls your want to use (and put them in a separate name space). This way you can be assured everything will work and they wont have to have the AJAX Control Toolkit in the DotNetNuke site.

Yes, version compatibility is one of my concerns.
Your suggestion makes perfect sense.
I'll try it in my module.

Thanks,
Uri
