my problems started today when i clicked the 'files' option on one of my sites to upload some additional files. this caused the application pool to stop responding. recycling the pool would get it going again, but every time i went to 'files' it would no longer serve pages for any sites. i figured the asp.net cache might be corrupt so i stopped iis, cleared out the C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\ and restarted iis. Now, the site doesn't even serve the default page anymore, nothing works. I don't know what it's doing really, there's no cpu usage, and it never times out or gives an error or puts anything in the event log. Clearing the files from portals\_default\cache and portals\0\cache didn't help either. Restarting the computer didn't help.

Here's a log of all the activity done by the worker process when it starts and then hangs doing whatever

i can't really figure out what the problem is, but maybe someone else could?

In your DNN database do you have any specific error messages that were reported in your EventLog table?

As for your IIS configuration, I am not sure of the cause of that error, but maybe a DNN error could shed some light on the situration.

Something in web.config? Compare current with a recent backup.

well, when i woke up this morning, NONE of my sites are working anymore. they all somehow broke since i posted that last message and went to sleep. i guess the problem isn't dotnetnuke after all. i'll have to try some other troubleshooting for iis and the .net framework i guess. thanks anyways.

How big is your eventlog? How about your sitelog? I've had issues with both tables filling up on a few sites lately and causing weird performance issues
