Today I upgraded the Announcements module to 03.04.00. When it completed the upgrade I got this error, and when I go to my website at www.codyparknews.org, I get an error message. I need to help really badly on this one!!! I am using DNN 4.5.1.

DotNetNuke Error: - Version 04.05.01

OK, I fixed it. Here is what I did. I renamed the web.config file, then with my browser went to the web address. Naturally I got an error. Then I renamed the web.config to web.config, then my website came back up. I don't understand it, but it worked.

Now, since I have compression on, should I turn it off before I upgrade the modules? Could this be causing a problem?

From your solution it sounds like the application needed to be restarted (which is typically automatically completed by the install process).  I don't think it is related to compression.

You could try after performing a module upgrade going to Host -> Host Settings and pressing the "Restart APplication" link.

I probably would of done that, but it gave me that error immediately after the install of the Module. I took a guess as to it just needing to be restarted. Thanks for the insight! I do appreciate the help I get in this forum!!!
