Select the icon in the top right corner to change styles. Use firefox, netscape, opera to see and select all 700 designs. IE onlyallows loading of the first 30 designs.  This is a beta testing site and the first load is a bit bloated as it loads all designs.  In a production environment the styles would be limited to 30 per MS$.

Mitch, its the motherload of beta test sites.  All 700+ css designs get loaded in all browsers but MS$ IE you can dynamically switch between any of the designs without a page refresh.  Obviously in a production environment you would limit the designs to 30.

Yes this is DNN (v3.2x) with a smart skin facelift!!!  checkout the terms - the login - and view the source of the page.  One of the objectives is to stress test this site. We are currently loading 7,000 sub portals to stress test the code.  At some point we will have the home page load a default style set of 30 and have the motherload page linked a bit deeper. 

Your load delay was not necessarily  just the page...  the page load is fat at 160K .  Its the loading of 700 css files from the various sites around the world that takes up some time.    We appreciate your feedback, what browser were you using?

This test site needs to be beat up a bit - broken and than optimized for release.

All the errors generated are produced by the DNN core framework. 

700 Errors were from linking the style sheets:  document type does not allow element "LINK" here....l/~mosm/css_zen/csszenfloating.css)" />  Not sure how we can get around this... Any ideas?

We have other production portals that were forked from the core.  Ended up modifing a bunch of stuff - modules - applied post process  filters - DB - We are able to validate transitional but once users start adding content...  No guarantees.  

What impressed us was after the painfully slow "motherload" it was really sweet and neat to just cycle through the designs and watching them apply dynamically without refresh.  The libarary of CSS files that load probably contain every trick / hack known to Man.  Some of the designs are mind blowing.  Checkout Zauras,  Killer Style and wiggles...  definetly the work of designers.   

I think with a little tweaking and optimizing we have a powerful Smart Skin that can give DNN portals a significant  facelift and provide everyone a starting point of 700+  cc licenced css designs to modify and play with.
