Ok - I got my events back, well, rather, I had to create them, but it didn't take long at all -

I saved all my stored procedures, uninstalled the Events module, deleted all my stored procedures, then re-installed the 3.07.07 module.  Events are now working properly, with exception (so far) to the RSS syndication.

For those of you who do not have console access to your server where your DB is hosted, I used TableEditor from http://www.2enetworx.com/dev/projects/tableeditor.asp.  Very handy tool (and it is free!).

So, to sum up, events are now working again, but I still do not have RSS syndication.

I feel like I'm spamming the board with my updates to my problem here!

I am having the same problem.  The events feed isn't showing any events.  This is a clean install (first on server) of 4.05.

Any ideas?

I've found that there are many ways to get errors w/DNN.   For example, I implemented DNN on my sites several years ago...during the upgrades over the years, things had changed in the config.   I  did not Purge my Logs (using the Scheduler) and the had grown tremendously.  I was getting all kinds of strange errors.  Once I discovered this and cleaned up the log files everything worked fine.   Every time I implement a new module or DNN version I always test on a clean install first and try to determine what's changed about the DNN config.  I then test all modules that I running on this clean install...It pays to be somewhat cautious....

Just as an FYI, this is still an issue - I've noticed that some responses to my earlier posts are approved before I respond to my own posts, so there is a bit of dilineation in the flow.

In any case, this installation is pretty new (as of last week), so there really isn't much to be messed up (yet!).

I really need to get the events syndication working as soon as possible, but don't know where to go/what to do...any help?

Regards,

Rob

Actually this is NOT an issue...just tested it and it works fine.  It all depends if you understand how RSS works in DNN...in fact a lot of issues have to do with folks not understanding DNN and the modules.

In this case, there are a lot of variables.  In order for RSS to work period in DNN:

1) you need to enable the Search Engine in the DNN Scheduler.
2) in the Events module instance, you also need to enable the Search Engine, in the Settings for the module
3) also in the module instance, enable "Syndication"
4) add events in the module instance and make sure the search scheduler has run; or manually run the Search function (on the Host Menu)
5) Select the syndication (XML) button on the module instance and capture that URL
6) Plug the URL (from step 5) into the RSS Module Instance or some other RSS reader web app

Finally, if you want some formatting on the syndication, you will have to apply XSL/XSLT to it...

As you can see this is not obvious...it would be great if folks would research issues and help out somewhat.  We realize some of these topics are not really easy to learn and discover...but hopefully others will educate themselves and pass it on.
