I think I have much worse problem. 300+ users ... and still growing, but all of them are located into 3 different AD! Only one way I could deal with that was adding 2 Linked Servers to my SQL Server, creating view (wiht union) which combines user queries from 2 AD and at last using them in 2 procedures "AddUser" and "aspnet_Profile_SetProperties".

We have to also notice that the similar problem is when using the Forum module. There we would like to see user names rather than "usernames", am I right? But I haven't found a good solution for that.

Thanks a bunch Lev, that's got them automatically populating Display Names when they first log on. I am lucky our AD doesn't have the email address issues. Good work .

D procedure.  But in the end it works perfectly! Modify the dbo.AddUser stored procedure, and check if the @DisplayName parameter is empty, then make it @Firstname + ' ' + @Lastname:

I am in DNN 4.3.3

cfrancois,

The stored procedure is in the database, which might be SQL2000 or SQL2005, depending on what you've used during the installation. If you use Enterprise Manager for SQL2000 or SQL Server Management Studio for SQL2005, then you can navigate to the stored procedure by drilling into the DotNetNuke database. Look for "AddUser" Stored Procedure.

Let me know if you need help modifying it. I can send you a complete modified version that you can copy-paste.

Cheers,
Lev.
