I have downloaded DNN to my directory and set up IIS but the homepage isn't showing.. When I browse to the site I get the directory listing instead of the page itself.   I'm using IIS 7.  Thanks

Try setting up Default.aspx as one of your default documents in the Properties of IIS for the website, it's probably just set to "default.htm" right now

Ok Thanks for the reply I got past that stage.

The next problem occurs when I run the database scripts..  It seems to hang up there - I'm using SQL Express 2005 and I'm also using Cassini ASP.Net Server.

Thanks again Richard

Hi,

I'm also attempting a clean install of 4.5.1 on my dev box using SQL Express 2005.  The install wizards seems to hang when attempting to run the database scripts.  Note: The SQL user connecting to the database is in the dbo role.

And ideas?

I was able to get the scripts to install using SQL Express by modifying web.config

     connectionString="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Initial Catalog=DotNetNuke;Integrated Security=True"
      providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
And here..

    <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;Initial Catalog=DotNetNuke"/>

I also could not get the install wizard to work instead I navigated to ~Install/Install.aspx?mode=Install and that did the trick.

So I did get the product to install the problem now is if I navigate to the site:  http://localhost/DotNetNuke/default.aspx  then I get this:

HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error

Description: This application is running in an application pool that uses the Integrated .NET mode. This is the preferred mode for running ASP.NET applications on the current and future version of IIS.

Regards Rich
