DotNetNuke OpenForce'07 Needs You
Do you like to share your DotNetNuke knowledge with the community? Do you enjoy speaking in front of large crowds? You are exactly the person we are looking for. The DotNetNuke OpenForce'07 Conference is seeking your help to make the first officially sponsored DotNetNuke conference a great success.
Every conference relies on the quality of its speakers. While we have reserved a few speaking slots for DotNetNuke Corp co-founders and a few other special guests, the large majority of the sessions will be given by DotNetNuke community members. While we anticipate that some core team members will want to speak, we are also interested in having speakers from the broader DotNetNuke community as well. So please don't hesitate to offer your speaking services. We are also seeking international speakers as well. So even if you are from Australia, or Europe or the Far East, and you plan on attending the conference, then you should definitely submit a session proposal.
Speaker Benefits
Every speaker at the DotNetNuke OpenForce conference will recieve 3 nights of lodging at the Mandalay Bay Casino and Hotel along with free conference registration. Conference registration will allow every attendee full access to the expo hall, and all sessions at the DevConnections and DotNetNuke OpenForce conferences. (Pre and Post conference training days are not covered in the complimentary registration)
Speaker Milestones
May 15 Deadline for submitting session proposals
May 22 Speaker invitations sent
September 17 Deadline for sending in Presentation and Sample files
November 5-8 DotNetNuke OpenForce'07 Conference

To submit session proposals and find out more information go to the OpenForce'07 page on the DotNetNuke Corp. website.

I hope everyone of the DNN community can make the conference. I know I'll be there, even if I don't get chosen to speak.

See everyone in Vegas in November!

This sounds really cool.

If I may make a suggestion:

It would be nice if everyone made suggestions of what they would like to see.
The conference may get better attendance if the sessions are created from prospective attendee input.

It would also be good if people had a way of seeing what sessions others have already submitted abstracts for.

How many total sessions are planned?  What will be the cost to attend?

For this first conference we are trying to keep things simple and not get too complicated.  I have a very short window in which to get all the speakers identified and submitted to DevConnections.  I assume that most speakers will already have several sessions that they have presented at smaller user groups or codecamps.  Since most speakers already work fairly closely with the community, I am sure they will have lots of good infomation to share that the community will find extremely beneficial.  When selecting final sessions, we will certainly keep in mind the broad experience levels of potential attendees and make sure that we have content that will cover a wide range of topics and skill levels.

I will see if I can add some info to the signup page on other submitted proposals, although I won't make any guarantees at this point since it does take away from other tasks I also need to get accomplished.

The conference will have two tracks spread across three days with a total of 22 sessions (it is possible we will add a couple more sessions, but that is still to be determined).  Final costs will be posted on the DevConnections site when registration opens up in the next week or two, but you can expect costs to be in line with previous DevConnections conferences.  There will be more information about the conference itself in the coming weeks as the DevConnections and OpenForce planning teams finalize the details.

This is a great.  I will be submitting my proposals later this afternoon!

I will be trying to attend even if I am not selected as a speaker, but that might be a bit complicated due to cost issues, but I think this would be great for the entire DotNetNuke community.  (wish me luck...)
