This is where the problem begins,  on the install of the VB compiled module.

Installation stopped because the directory for the ProjectType value did not exist.  The project type is invalid for your installation of

Visual Studio.

As far as I can see from looking up this error, I need to reset my  import setting, which I have done and  still get the same problem.

Is it possible that it only works when the destination is c:\my documents.....etc ??

1. you can install DNN in any directory, but try to keep the physical path as short as possible

2. you do not need Visual Studio to run install and run DNN if you are usiing install or source package.

Leupold, It's the Starter Kit I'm installing and the result is the same error whether I install withing  VWD  Express or direct by running the VSI file with VWD closed.

There seems to be no control over where it's installed in either of these options.
