They currently host the DotNetNuke board code and network boards to their clients who use them. Us being one of the. There are SO many bugs with how they have it set up. I went to disable the "What's New" section with one click. and it brought down the whole board.

I asked them if they would let me set up the code myself in our virtual folder, and they said yes, but would NOT release the currently stored information having to do with the message posts and uploaded files. Now we can't access any of it and because GoDaddy will not let me look at the settings or source code - I am powerless to reset it and load the local information back up. They have shunned offering technical support. I need help immediately.

my email is radiosteele@hotmail.com

Thank you.

The only help I can give you is to move your domain over to one of the host providers on the adverts here and just start over.  You did back up your databases right?  There are a bunch of good hosts.  I use brinkster for one of mine and they are easy to work with at the right price.  ;)

Sorry I didn't help you with this problem.

I just moved to Re-invent hosting and have found it to be a dream. I have complete access to everything including SQL Enterprise Manager for the database. The only thing they won't allow me to do is to set individual perms on my sub-directories.

I have sent emails to support and have gotten solutions in less than 30 minutes every time.

Do you use DNN with brinkster?  Do they offer any type of support to help with DNN?  GoDaddy seems to offer no information about DNN, although they do install it.

Yeah I use them with DNN. But there is no specific support for it.  They are, like the post about re-invent just really helpful in what they allow you to do and how quick they get to support questions.  Full access to your server or directory except setting permisions.  You can use enterprise manager or anything else on their SQL Server so backing up locally is a breeze.  Setting up DNN is as easy as loading it on your local machine and ftping it to your site then syncing the DB. I've got DB replication from brinkster to my dev box and also to a free mySQL DB at brinkster so if anything happens I've got the site backed up in at least two places.

The best part is that they don't install it for me.  I have control over what gets installed and what doesn't . :)
