Hello

I'm trying to activate the smtp settings but after to add my smtp server address (smtp.server1.com) and pushing the "Test" link is showing the error message "Could not access 'CDO.Message' object.

What is wrong? How can be fixed?

Best Regards

Carlos

The email address specified for your Host user must be a valid email address on that SMTP server.  This is likely the problem... the SMTP server is rejecting mail because DNN is attempting to relay through it with a "from" address that it does not recognize ( or allow ).

I am having a similiar problem with the host email test. I have tried two mail servers each with their associated mail servers 1. that says the email address is ---Mailbox name not allowed. The server response was: Sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts. and 2. Failure sending mail. The server I am using is a Godaddy system that uses CDONTS of COSYS. Tell me what to do PLEASE

I have fixed my problem.....

Besides having the right smtp address, most if not all mail servers require your username and password. The username must be the complete email address.....such as: name@domain.com. Thanks for your help.
