As an administrator, I can upload an attachment to a thread posting, however a standard user cannot.  They can attach a file that was previously uploaded, but not upload a file themselves.

Check that they have write access to a directory in file manager.

For example, you're "posters" group might require write access to your  "MyForumAttachments" folder ( just an example ).


Do you use Oracle?  Then try GoldFish.Net

I'll try that, but is there a default path fro attachments from inside the forum?  I'm using 3.20.09 and I can allow attachments, but not say where they are saved.

The forums just use the core DNN URL Control (which is the upload control, also used by the documents module).

In the guide HERE, there is a way to set the default location of files. Why is it not in ver 3.20!
