I just d/l and installed the 4.5.1 source and receive this error:

Server Error in '/' Application.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

One database table was created: dbo.Version. I'm using iis7 and sql server 2005 under vista. Any ideas?

Do you have both AutoUpgrade and UseWizard appSettings in your web.config??

Yes. I renamed the development.config to web.config and changed the database connection strings. It has both:

I found the solution is Chris' blog entry:

It was my iis7 settings.
