This must be a simple issue...I just cant' see it.  The Rich Text Editor is double-spacing my carriage returns such that I can't put one line directly under the other after hitting the return key.

That is because by default every time you hit return it creates a new paragraph.  You can get around this by pressing Shift + return and it will take you to the line directy below.  (It inserts an html <br> )

You can change almost very behavior of FCK so this one too.

Edit the fckconfig.js file in the "Providers/HtmlEditorProviders/Fck/Custom" folder

Look fo this setting:

FCKConfig.EnterMode = 'p'

Change this to:

FCKConfig.EnterMode = 'br'

and change

FCKConfig.ShiftEnterMode = 'p'
