Gallery was giving an error on my 4.5.1 DNN system.  I downloaded the 3.0.12 Module as Source and tried to reinstall it; it said gallery.dll was missing, so I reinstalled it using the install.zip.  Now my site is failing to run, due to the following error below.  What should I do now to recover the site?:

Description: An error occurred during the compilation of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific error details and modify your source code appropriately.
Compiler Error Message: BC30560: 'Utils' is ambiguous in the namespace 'DotNetNuke.Modules.Gallery'.

You need to be a little bit clearer as to which version of the gallery you are running.  If you are running the official "beta" version of the gallery module on the DNN site, then I don't understand why you have any code in the .../app_code/gallery/... directory--as that directory is a .NET 2.0 thing and the offical beta gallery is a .net 1.1 code.  So if you wish to run the official beta version of the gallery you need to remove all of that stuff, along with the desktopmodules/gallery directory and reinstall the official gallery beta module and go from there.

Now.. If you are trying to install my "patched" version of the module.  You need to follow the instructions in my install. which is to install the offical beta gallery module, then remove some files in the bin directory, and then copy in the two new directories.  With my install there is no separate "source" version, my version includes everything.

Silly me.  Please understand that I was a little frantic when my site was down.   I am running, or at least I tried to re-install, from http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Projects/ModuleGallery/Downloads/tabid/861/Default.aspx which takes you to:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=77052&package_id=168862 which takes you to the source file, which appeared to fail to install because it was missing gallery.dll:

which led me to try to install the install.zip which led to my site not getting the detailed runtime error listed in the previous post.

Let me know if you need more detailed information.

My provider was able to restore the website.  I am not really interested in testing the gallery module unless or until it becomes more stable.  a paid option is looking better.  let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Yes, correct, the source version of the gallery module will not have the necessary .DLL's, it will only contain the source code.. not the runtime libraries that you need.  You need to install the "Gallery_3.0.12_install.zip"
