I have been asked whether I can include a google search text box on my dnn portal so that users
can set my portal as their home page. They could just add a google toolbar but they specifically
wish to have a search entry point from the portal.

As far as I have deduced the search box that comes with default skins only looks at the portal?

Is there a way to have this default search box do both jobs of; 1. local searching, 2. google searching?

It is possible, but not without modifying the search provider to also include Google search results. This would require code changes.
