RAM usage like this is normal for DNN.

I believe, the PurgeCache scheduled task is only for persitent cache.  You don't want to purge cache just because it is using memory.  If it is using too much memory you need a way to cache less information.

BTW, did you know that the terms and privacy pages are cached in RAM? 
A quick way to get some of that memory back would be to make those static html pages and not use the dyanmic skin objects to link to them.

Rodney, FYI you can monitor what's in the cache to try and identify what's causing the problem by using cachemanager .

Hello Rodney,

 

I am facing the same as your problem.. where memory rises to 800-900 megs.. and I am working mostly the basic except the ventrian news articles..

have you found the cause or a solutions for this? am using 4.9.1

Solution found!!

In the marketplace there is a small utility dilling specificlly with the memory usage of the w3wp.exe process.

in the search field look for eproc. the utility is called eProc for DNN.

It is easy to install, the price is not high and doing amazing things with the memory for that process.

Hope it will solve your problem.
