I am setting up DNN on IIS 6 on port 81. This is because we have Apache running on port 80 proxying requests to IIS on port 81. The problem is my DNN site always inserts :81 after the URL, for example:

http://mysite.com:81/Home/tabid/36/ctl/Login/Default.aspx.

I would like to keep the :81 from being added to the URLs that are generated by DNN that users see. Does anyone know how to do this or seen this before?

Is the port present in the alias for the site under Portal Aliases (found under Host -> Portals)? If so, removing it from the alias definition should resolve this issue.

You can set the complete portal in a IFrame. On the address line and on the statusbar would only display http://www.mysite.com. I think another way you could handle this over the HostHeader Tag in the web.config

I have not been able to just delete the port on the portal alias until 4.5.x. Note however that the site will still sometimes generate a site with the port number in the URL. I am not sure why this happens but any ideas would be appreciated. DO I need to modify anything more than the portal alias?

Thanks,

Sean

I have the same problem but, in addition the port to IIS is not visible from outside the internal network. Did you resolve this problem??
