I have an install of 4.4.1 and want to upgrade to 4.5.1.  I have followed the upgrade instructions but get errors during the execution of the sql scripts and nothing works after(get nice asp.net error).  One very curious thing is that when I navigate to the site to start the upgrade process(after very carefully following the upgrade instructions found here) I actually get the Installation Wizard screen as opposed to an Upgrade Wizard screen as I have read about in other posts.  After it is done I get this:

Version: 04.05.01

Then I get "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" when I click the link or navigate to the site.  Why would it be installing version 4.4.0 when Im on 4.4.1?  It just doesn't seem to be doing the upgrade correctly and I don't have any clue as to why.  Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Have you looked at the generated log files?  There should be more information in them that will help us identify the cause

The DotNetNuke.Data.log file is very long and the only error I could find in it is the following:

System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: 'FK_EventLogConfig_EventLogTypes' is not a constraint.
Could not drop constraint. See previous errors.
   at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection)

   at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.InternalExecuteNonQuery(DbAsyncResult result, String methodName, Boolean sendToPipe)
   at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.ExecuteNonQuery()
   at DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider.ExecuteADOScript(String SQL)
   at DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider.ExecuteScript(String Script, Boolean UseTransactions)

The other log files are blank.  It seems to me that it is running a db script for 4.4.0 when my current install version is past that at 4.4.1......just a guess, but I hope this can give you a clue.

Also, does it seem strange that it is trying to create a new Portal on an upgrade?:

00:00:15.515 -   Creating Portal: My Website
00:00:15.703 -   Error: Error creating Profile Definitions
00:00:15.703 -   Portal failed to install:Error!

I have found the problem........I inherited this installation from someone else and didn't know it was previously setup with a

objectQualifier="dnn_"

I inserted this into the web.config along with the connection strings, InstallationDate, machine keys and the upgrade seems to have worked perfectly.  Funny how one little mistake on my part blew up the entire upgrade.  Thanks for the help though.
