Does having the .NET version 3 installed have a negative impact on a DNN installation?

Also, does anyone know what process account there is for a DNN installation? I can't get it to work and get an error message that the current user (what ever user that is) can't read the IIS metabase.

I have installed DNN on my Vista machine (which comes pre-installed with .Net 3.0) dozens of times without problems.  3.0 does not alter the existing ASP.Net bits so any failure installing/launching DNN is likely the result of a corrupted .Net installation.  I did have a similar situation when I first upgraded my machine from XP to VIsta.  Vista completely hosed my IIS installation which made any ASP.Net unuseable.  Once I re-installed VISTA the problems went away and I am now working trouble free.

No problems at all with XP/.NET 3.

Apparently with Vista you should have all the service packs installed etc (esp for visual studio and SQL Server if you are using those tools), but I'm waiting till next year :).
