I guess you could probaby write a SQL routine to transfer the Modules, Tabs, and many of the core modules tables over into a new 3.x install but the users and permissions would probably be a nightmare. The above posters are closer to the core than me so I might be missing something relating to tab/modules permissions that makes the idea unworkable.

You could most likely migrate most content back if you setup a fresh 3.x install...but boy would it be tricky and very prone to major issues....

Agreed, personally I can't think of a single reason of downgrading back to 3.x unless there was a massive module you had created that wouldn't work in 4.x, even so I'd rather refactor my entire app than try a downgrade... Just another reason to do AND KEEP backups (As I quickly backup my server development box to avoid hypocrosy).

I prefer that the DNN core team reduces the number of upgrade by year, because I'm developing a backoffice solution (for a big gas company) based on DNN and I need to have a framework stabler than usually... That's more important than to be able to do a downgrading.

Finally I fixed all problems I met. I'm still happy...But I prefer to be more dedicated to business (business modules dev) instead of upgrading and maintening DNN.

IMO there is no need to follow each upgrade. Many of our clients' portals are still on 4.4.1 currently.
