I need the ability to retrieve certain server variables in a custom module. Can someone please explain how I can do that? I need to retrieve the REMOTE_ADDR and AUTH_USER and use the values of these as parameters in stored procedures. DotNetNuke is preventing me from accessing them. Please help; this is real important for me to successfully migrate from our Cold Fusion environment to DNN.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Jon

check here: http://dnnblog.venexus.com/view+server+variables+module.aspx

also: the AUTH_USER doesn't mean anything if you are not using windows authentication. You can user me.userinfo (available in the module code behind / beside) instead

Thanks for the link Erik. We ARE using Windows Authentication, but right now the only thing that has anonymous turned off is WindowsSignin.aspx. If I turn Anonymous OFF on the whole site I can see the LOGON_USER in the server variables. Do you know (by chance) WHAT specific files need to have anonymous turned off in order to get this functionality? I have turned it off on the obvious, e.g. default.aspx, module ascx files, controls directory, etc but no luck yet. Am I going to have problems with DNN with Anonymous turned off? This is STRICTLY an intranet inaccessible from the internet.

Thanks for the help!

Jon

I downloaded the PA for this module, it is great for testing. Do you have the source code (VB) so I can educate myself on how to use the variables? It would be greatly appreciated.
