I tried to do what you suggested however, for some reason the checkbox is grayed out under module definitons. Do I need to do this during installation of the module? I tried to do it manually in the DB under the module tables but I didn't know what to change; is there a field I can change in the DB to do this?

I'm seeing the same error. I've got three pairs when search is re-indexed. Also, don't have a way to 'uncheck' the Searchable box. Wondering whether the index is good otherwise.
