Hi there, we're having a problem with Page Titles that we're hoping someone here might be able to help with.

In version 4.4.1, tested just yesterday, removing the Page Title from the page settings would force the page to build the title from the 'path' to the page, so if we had a Home page on my Take That portal, with a page off that named JK Test, the title would be 'Take That > Home > JK Test'.

However, with the upgrade to 4.5.1, it appears that if you try to blank out the Page Title field, it copies it from the Page Name! Not only that, but it also seems to populate it down into the Description and Key Words boxes, for some, unknown, reason.

This doesn't look good when I tell the administrators that their portals can have blank page titles one day to get nicely generated titles, and the next they come to me telling me that they, in fact, cant.

I'm quite dissapointed in the change. I could hack the source to fix it, but I would obviously rather not.

So, anyone else notice this bug? I'm going to have to script something in the DB that runs when the tabs table is updated, blanking out the Page Title field when it's the same as the Page Name field, to get the original (desired) functionality back.

Any ETA when this bug will be fixed? I don't know anything about the bug reporting process here, and would prefer not to, if someone who does and cares enough to report it formally, that would be awesome.

Cheers.

Thanks John,

Any idea of when that will be available, I will not hold you to that date ;-)

Keep up the fantastic work.

Tony

This is not official because I have absolutely no control over when a release occurs, but Shaun Walker posted that it was tentatively scheduled for 5/28/2007.

Thanks for not holding me to it though :)
