Hi

Initially we had 0 sec set for the forum module cache. Just today we changed it to 999999 (this was done from the forums page where the module was added rather than in Host-Module defenition). Since the change, all unauthenticated users just see the home forums page. They click any link the URL changes but the home page is again shown. It seems its cached for an anonymous user and no matter where they go they are stuck on the forums home page (cant get into any thread or posts). Once you are logged in it works like a charm. We would like to keep the cache on for performance reasons, is there a work around for this problem

We are using the Forums 3.2 on DNN 4.4

Thanks

As far as I know the forums does NOT support caching.

AFAIR there was to be code added to the forums module a few versions back to ensure caching did apply, as it would be extremely easy to crash a website by implementing caching (consider how quickly ram would be filled if the forum contained hundreds/thousands of posts)

Thanks for the feedback, i do understand caching the whole of forums will have its consequnces but cant parts of it be cached?
Maybe like the edit/add post form, search .. etc. which we know will be standard for specific user roles.

Or maybe we can directly put a cache control to the above mentioned acsx files?

The majority of forum module code is cached.
